About us

This is a volunteer ran online store for a Gazan photographer named Hosam Anwar.

The goal of this store is to raise money for Hosam's mother's medical needs, and to support him in providing for his family.

This is a message from him:

"I am a photographer from the Gaza Strip, and I have lived through the war in all its painful details — not only through my camera lens, but through my heart, soul, and entire life. Since the beginning of the war, I have tried to document the truth and convey the suffering and voices of people to the world. But with every photo I captured, I felt that I was also documenting a part of my own pain.

The war did not only take away our sense of safety; it took our loved ones, our dreams, and the lives we were trying to build. I lost my closest friend, the person who always encouraged me and inspired me to continue creating through photography. He was more than just a friend — he was my greatest source of inspiration. Losing him left a deep emptiness inside me.

Then came the greatest tragedy of my life on September 28, 2025, when my father was killed during the war. That day changed my life completely. My father was not only my support system; he was the sense of security I always turned to no matter how difficult life became. After his death, I suddenly became the sole provider for my entire family. Today, I carry the responsibility of supporting my mother, my five siblings, and my wife, all while living under extremely difficult conditions and struggling to secure even the most basic necessities of life.

Every day, I try to stay strong. I work as much as I can to provide for my family, but the truth is that the burden is far heavier than I can bear alone. I live with overwhelming responsibilities, constant grief, and continuous fear for my family and our future. Despite all of this, I still hold on to one simple dream: to travel with my wife to a safe place where we can begin a new life far away from death, fear, and destruction — a life where we can finally breathe, live in peace, and rebuild what the war has taken from us.

I am not asking for pity; I am asking for a chance to live. I am asking for support that can help me stand again after losing so much. I only want to live with dignity, protect my family, and continue pursuing photography, because it is the one thing that still makes me feel alive and reminds me that our story deserves to be told."
