A few large modern buildings line the road — clean facades, decent architecture, one of them still mid-construction when everything stopped. A bit of damage here and there, but not the kind that dominates the frame. This is what Gaza looked like. Is what it looked like — built up, contemporary, a city with cranes and new buildings going up. Hosam photographed the street the way you photograph any street worth living on.
