A plant in a pot. Someone has been watering it, turning it toward the light, making sure it has what it needs. In the middle of everything — the rubble, the displacement, the weight of days that do not let up — someone has found the time of day to care for this small living thing. Hosam photographed the plant, and in doing so photographed the person who tends it, even though they are not in the frame.
