A footpath runs between the tents, a small car parked at the entrance, smoke rising from a controlled fire somewhere not too far. The monochrome pulls out the texture of it — the canvas, the ground, the smoke dissolving upward — and what remains is the shape of a neighbourhood. Improvised, close together, navigated daily by people who might know it by now.
