DESPITE

Three moments, one frame. Black smoke rising somewhere in the distance. A building that should have fallen and hasn't. A neighborhood of tents with Palestinian flags raised above them, people moving through, the marketplace alive. Hosam stitched them together not as a timeline but as a statement — destruction, endurance, and life continuing anyway, all at once, all true at the same time. The title does not finish its own sentence. It doesn't need to.
