He is walking along the shore, the sea at a distance to one side, the sand wide and open around him. Hosam caught him from behind — anonymous, unhurried, going somewhere or nowhere in particular. There is something in the width of it, the stretch of beach, the Mediterranean sitting quietly at a near-enough distance. A man, and sand, and all that room.
